Yeah, for me it's clinical experiences. I've got solid community service in a lot of things not related to medicine. Stressed out.

Edit: also, if you DO read it, realize it is an opinion and that is ALL. There will always be adcoms who don't feel the same way. Also, she is a FORMER adcom; not a current one. One comment I have seen LizzyM make is that when they changed the character limit from 300ish to whatever it is now, the adcoms were a little pissy.

My only qualm with that post about activity descriptions, is what do you talk about then in interviews if your asked about activities? If you write what your feelings and lessons were from experiences, what new is there to say so that you don't regurgitate? What new is there to put on secondaries that ask for "information not noted elsewhere" or the hardships/lessons type questions?

IMHO explicitly stating what you got out of some experiences in the activities description section would end up becoming formulaic and robotic. Wouldn't explanations that are descriptive and in the active voice be sufficient enough? Shouldn't concise language be appreciated for its precision and strength? The character limit for descriptions is a bit over board, honestly. The limit now is around 1,200 or something.. that's nearly a 1/4 of the personal statement limit. To me that seems excessive, and if people are writing that much, its fluff. Most of my descriptions are around 500-600 characters (which also falls under AACOMAS 800 limit), and to me seem accurately descriptive, to the point, and my feelings/lessons should be implicitly understood or at least someone who is conscious of their reading would be able to draw their own conclusions.

just a note about this dont worry about it all guys. Adcoms are fickle if theres one thing ive notived and you will never please anyone. Many in the 2014 thread did what you should supposedly not do and are accepted. I did it the way that was suggested and was often complimented for it on interviews but in the end both ways get you accepted. You do what you can and thats that dont worry now that its submitted. Secondaries are also really your time to shine. The main reason this former adcom suggessts this is honestly everyone has good grades and mcat (whos competitive). Sometimes all that can be used is the im interesting card to give you that extra push. Doing the activities as she suggests allows greater opportunity to play that card.

Everyone for the most part writes the same crap on the PS whcih is another reason that way she suggests. Either way dont worry you will all be accepted 🙂

yup! people have to respect his game. he worked hard to get where he's at. and because of that, it'll make the celtics win that much sweeter

well...they play at home for the last two games so they have that advantage...but they would have to win 2 games in a row which will be difficult. i'm gonna need the celts to win this game so the lakers fans can go sit down
 
That was just sloppy play by the Lakers. And too many fouls overall. The entire Laker comeback was FTs, it was ridiculous. But Rondo is insane. He's an animal. It's fun to watch.

Kinda hoping there's a game 7 because it will be SO intense!

One more transcript to go! NYU (surprised?) supposedly sent my transcript twice. Once on Tuesday, and again on Friday (I guess they FINALLY got around to the one I mailed the Wednesday before Memorial Day). So HOPEFULLY they'll either show up today or tomorrow.

Thanks, guys. I'm more annoyed than worried, really. This fuggery has gone on for way too long. I'm banking that ONE of those transcripts shows up in the next day or two, because I think if I'm all in by Wednesday I'll hopefully be verified by next Friday.

lol oh really? lakers have the king of flops (fisher) and one of the dirtiest players in the league (artest).

i don't know where their defense went, but if they want any chance of winning at home, they better bring it back quick. so what's the point of complaining about boston's defense when la can't even defend? if la loses this next game or game 7, i will laugh.

Like msb, I don't think it's possible. The school itself might be able to, I guess. (doubtful, there's a formal sealing process for mailed transcripts lol).

hmm i don't know because i always thought they needed transcripts sent directly from the registrars office...you could always call me 🙂
 
Yeah that was pretty much what I thought; I never understood why Interfolio would work because pretty much anyone that needs a transcript has that requirement that the transcripts come directly from the registrar's office.
