no i deleted my fb. i was friends with cliff before i did, though. so at least someone knows i'm legit.

Yeah, I deactivated mine for a long time but recently brought it back for an endeavor I am doing. However, I realized, I hate organizing things with other people involved and I sort of want to go solo on it anyway, so I may deactivate again soon.

i am still feeling guilty for crushing metalgear's hopes and dreams🙁 I was trying to phrase it in a way so that she/he knew it was important, but not in the crappy way SDNers usually break the news to people.

I failed.

I fail at life.


On the plus side...Kyle XY is awesome.
 
so theres this commercial for provita energy drink and there's a phrase (they give you 6 energy drinks free when you buy one???) so they say "we're sure you'll never want another drink again" and i'm pretty certain that means it's more addictive than cocaine.

i've never heard of this energy drink. please do some personal research and report back.
 
You know, my heart skipped like 10 beats when I saw how many posts this thread had. For a full, unreal second I thought people had gotten accepted (which is, of course, ridiculous).

I'd like to jump into this foray by officially telling everyone talking about Kyle XY that that show SUCKS. He has no freakin belly button. WTF is up with that?

I'm a he, and don't feel guilty, if anything you got me off my butt to start secondaries. So you didn't fail!

Oh and last night I watched the two episodes of Psych that they have on Hulu, it was pretty funny and doesn't Shawn kind of remind you of JD from Scrubs? He even has a black bff!

i wish i wouldve kept up with that show. i watched the first season pretty regularly, but not since then.

No I haven't read it, but it sounds interesting from the Amazon reviews. I might pick it up from the library.

Let's total up what we've spent so far on applications, and see what we could have bought instead. I'll go first. So far, MCAT + Primaries + Secondaries I'm working on (6) = $1,700

What I could have bought:

Now you guys total it up and find something else you could have bought. By the way app season is only getting started, by the end of it I probably could have taken 2 cruises!

Cruising kinda sucks, but you could have still taken an awesome trip with that money.


I could have paid my mortgage for a month so far. This includes loose calculations of how much work I have lost working on med school stuff.

While watching Hulu I keep seeing commercials for this show called The Colony on Discovery Channel. It sounds interesting so I looked it up and it looks like this is the second season? Did anyone watch the first season?

The "only applying to 5 schools" thread is freaking me out because they are all warning this guy about being a reapplicant....and I am scared I will be a reapplicant next year and I didn't know it was such a ****ing scarlet letter.

I watched a few episodes. It was alright. Nothing spectacular. And it didn't keep me watching. But I'm not one for reality TV.

I'm not big on reality either (unless it involves food) but this sounded kind of cool....I like the post-apocalyptic thing.

Sun, I guess this is why I see people taking 2 years between applications instead of 1? ::sigh:: this crap is all so complicated.

People have done it here before, and someone in my graduate program was successful at it as well. It all depends on how much of the cusp were you on before and what have you done in the intervening time. I think many re-applicants fail to address one or the other factors. If you addressed those, then you should be fine.
