A SDN member claim its due to the changes to the mcat. I don't think a lot of the traditional JR's will have the pre-reqs in time.

I heard it would be a result of the new MCAT. But at this point I think that is mere speculation.

Most schools will still be accepting the old MCAT next year. Not really sure why it matters, anyway. Even if there's a couple thousand less "early" applicants, it's still in your best interest to apply as early as possible. You do you, don't worry about what the rest of the application pool is doing.

There was speculation that IU or LSU Shreveport would have fewer applicant is they continued their plan for the 2015 season accepting only the new MCAT. Now that IU will take the old MCAT now I don't see any issue. In truth, there will be plenty of applicants with the old MCAT. just worry that those with the new MCAT will be at a disadvantage.
