Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Oh and the end of Ramadan coincides with when I am taking the MCAT, so can we say PARTAY?? 😀

Haha, can't wait! I don't blame Ramadan, but fasting has really drained me of the energy needed to study along with other problems that arose this month. I'm probably gonna have to make some magic happen in the last two weeks before my MCAT and score like a 30 😀 If not, I'll probably end up retaking or applying strictly DO. We'll see what happens 😛

Yup.

I have actually worked at two theme parks....neither were like adventureland but both were pretty awesome. One being super awesome.

Sounds like fun. Whenever I got to an amusement park I see all the employees there and they're all like kids (like 15-20) and I'm like...how can I work here? 😕

I guess it depends on the caliber of the park. I was young when I cleaned restrooms at the local amusement park but I was like the youngest person around(18/19) when I worked at Disneyland.

😱😱 Disneyland! I wanna go there one day 😛

Very interesting...it makes much more sense now 😀

Cool video! I love KA!

Unrelated: Just saw ColeontheRoll's MDapps... my AAMC FL avg. is the same as his! Then he went ahead and got a 41 on the real deal...

I'm not saying that means I'll get above a 40 butt..... :xf::xf::xf:

:luck::luck: Didn't we already tell you? You are getting a 42!

BTW: what is his average?

:luck::luck: Didn't we already tell you? You are getting a 42!

BTW: what is his average?

Let's see:

Here's his MDApps

He took AAMC 4,5,7,9,10 (3 was done before any content review)

His scores were, respectively: 37, 35, 37, 38, 37
So his avg = 36.8 ~ 37

Falls right on top of my average, I think you've surpassed his average tots

Good vid, this will probably help me out in endo this semester. 👍

I want to apply to be an RA next year I think. I dunno yet though. Depends on how I like this year. It'll be my first year living on campus! Any tips, guys?

Goose, I'm sure you did awesome anyway. 😀

Your school offers an endo class? So cool

Thanks 😀

Yeesh, you guys have sick averages. I hope I do that good. Do you guys think you got your scores that high by the quality/amount of your content review, or do you think that you just did such an ace job in your pre-reqs that it was no big deal? 😛

Find a good bathroom on campus that not too many people go to because your bathroom might get trashed 😛

My average is exactly 37. Thank you AAMC#3 😡

Eh. I will be honest. I would probably get an F in the content review department if I was graded objectively. I did take a class and learned a lot from it but I almost never did the homework(hey, like HS!). Instead I focused on areas I knew I had difficulties and I think doing well in my pre-reqs really helped. I actually really enjoyed and tried to learn it well in my pre-reqs
Probably because my #1 strength on strength finder is "Learner"...all I do is learn learn learn everyday.

This is the nice thing about my humungous state school. Always a clean bathroom somewhere on campus, just got to find the good ones that no one knows about 😎

Definitely both played a role. Before I say anything more I do want to get my score back because I don't want to claim anything before any of us know my actual results haha.

Hey my friend was telling me about strength finder I want to do that don't you have to pay for it? My friend got to do it for free through some class.

EDIT: 600th post! 😀

Ugh, browsing MD Applicants always makes me so nervous. Everyone has really awesome ECs and clinical experiences. I feel like I haven't gotten to do anything terribly awesome. =/

Ever have those moments where you just think you won't be able to do it? I feel like I don't stack up. :scared:

As part of my RA job we all had to take strengthfinder so I got it for free. My boss was very big on strengths.

You can buy the book with the access code for not too much: http://www.amazon.com/StrengthsFinder-2-0-Tom-Rath/dp/159562015X

I think it is worth it. It is interesting and I actually think it was right on the nose with my strengths....just helped me put them into words.

Woot! I wanna know what my strengths are too, it sounds fun haha. 😀

Last summer I definitely had those moments Pro.

I just forced myself to get involved in a bunch of stuff this year. You'll be impressed with how much stuff you can accomplish if you do the same! It got brutal at times but that's where RedBull comes in!

I dislike being mad about things I have no control over 🙁

Do you mind if I ask you guys for some EC's advice? I feel like that's the department where I'm lacking. So far I basically have my part time job, my summer job, ~120 hours enrolling patients in clinical research, some shadowing, an alternative spring break trip helping the homeless, a summer volunteering as a leader for a youth movie-making club, foreign language honor society, and that's pretty much it. This fall I'm gonna be a bio lab TA, I'm gonna stop the clinical research gig and look for some bench research, try to do some non-clinical volunteering, and maybe do a radio program on the school's station or something like that. Sound like a plan, or should I be doing other stuff too? I always feel like it's not good enough. 😳

Likewise. Time to go read some Epictetus.

Sounds like enough to me? Just do what you love and keep yourself busy.

Hi guys.... just coming to see what madness you are creating in here. So far so good. Carry on, as you were. 🙂
