I just went walking with my mother and she told me all these hilarious stories. She also blamed me for being 8th in her Law School Class..She said she was ranked 1 or 2 before I came along. I was like....wow Thanks Mother. :laugh:

I want to get one this year because I'll be applying in June.
I know they don't change much year to year but I'm just curious when the newest one will be available for me

Dude, tell me about it. I've apparently developed an allergic reaction to my migraine medication. My doctor told me to increase my dose because my migraines hadn't gotten better, but instead of lessened migraines, I got crazy vertigo, ataxia, insomnia, chills, fever, intense abdominal pain, and... other gastrointestinal symptoms. All corresponding to the time I increased my dose. THE WEEK OF MY EFFING MCAT. IM FREAKING OUT LIKE NO OTHER.

I started AAMC 10 yesterday, but had to stop because I wasn't feeling good 😱 I'm taking the WS and BS sections today after having PS and VR yesterday.

First of all, let me just say: WTF AAMC 10. The test so far is way, way, way harder than AAMC 9, yet the scale is way harder? Huh? The last verbal passage was totally impossible, so I feel like I might have gotten my lowest VR score ever on this AAMC. PS was blah, there was one passage that was like reading Japanese and the discretes were nrutal 🙁

Alright, time to finish AAMC 10! Writing Sample here we cometh! Time to write the crap out of these bad boys, bahahaha. I actually don't mind the Writing Sample. It's like an hour-long break between Verbal and Biological Sciences, and it's more fun than another section...

I am sooo getting below a 30 on AAMC 10 👎

Comes out in April. As of this year though the paper copy is useless(doesn't have average GPA/MCAT for each school) so make sure you only purchase the digital copy($15). It might be worth purchasing this years because once you get your MCAT back you can start going through schools.
 
Hmmm, well, AAMC 10 didn't go terribly, but it didn't go fantastically either. Got a 33. 11 PS, 10 VR, 12 BS. It's the worst I've ever done in Verbal, as expected, and the best I've ever done in PS! One more point on BS would've landed me a 13 🙄. The disturbing thing is that I got three less questions correct on AAMC 10 than on AAMC 9, and went down from a 36 to a 33 😱😱😱. That makes nooooo sense, since I thought 10 was a much harder test. Oh well!! At least I'm scoring consistently in the mid-30's now! I thoroughly enjoyed the (sometimes-confusing) physiology, and was shocked at how detail-oriented the orgo was.

TOTS LETS DISCUSS AAMC 10 GOGOGOGOGO. How did you end up doing on it, I don't remember.
 
****. I just got my schedule for this entire semester...*sigh*

I've got a morning class everyday, so I'll be waking up at 7..EVERYDAY..got two night classes. that are like 5 hours each...

so what does that mean? I get to take all the night shifts..and then right after that, I get to stroll into my morning class in my scrubs..then I get to crash at home for like 5 hours, then go to school school at night, then go straight back to work...do that all over again.

i better buy more scrubs, because i'm just going to be living in them.


gotta start dosing up the caffeine .

Wow, that's still really awesome. I got really absorbed in one of the verbal passages because I really related to it (lol) so I lost a lot of time there, and didn't have enough time to do the last passage, which was a ridiculous one. Did you think it was a harder test than the other AAMC's? I definitely thought so.

What are you doing these last few days to prepare? :scared:

I think 11 was the hardest..by far. But eh. Haha. I think 10 just had the worst curve of them all....

Yeah, 10 had a really bad curve haha... wow, if I got a 33 on 10, watch me get like a 28 on 11...

I think I'll just review AAMC 10 tonight, go through a little molecular genetics.

Then AAMC 11 tomorrow.

Review some PS equations, some solubility because I STILL don't understand the common ion effect (can someone please explain this to me, lol?), go through acids/bases in my head again.

And try to sleep.

I'm starting to actually like the PS equations. It's like, once you recall them, it's just plugging in numbers from there... unlike certain passages that just throw crazy contraptions in your face, don't explain how they work properly, and ask you questions about them 😱

I've been mulling about when I should take the MCATs (I was studying abroad this summer), and was thinking of maybe starting to study now (and through fall quarter) for the January test... Turns out I'm going to be taking PChem with the hardest professor available so I'll be devoting my brain to that. Grrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

So methinks I'm going to have to wait until starting around Spring break and through spring quarter? I'll be taking about 14 units then I think. I wish I could have studied when I had no classes, but if I save my studying for next summer, I won't be able to apply in time. ):

Yes I am taking it at 8 am! I can't wait to be done! I drove to the testing center this morning and it took me 65 mins! I am going to try a different route this time. I also got lost though...which hopefully won't happen today.

Ewwww Pchem. Good luck with that! 🙂

You could take it in June/July and still apply early I think? But make sure you give yourself around 3 months. A lot of people study in winter/spring and take it in spring and do well so YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Hey, PChem is luuuuuurvely. I liked that class, a lot.

SIXTY FIVE MINUTES???? Hot dayum. I think mine's about 20 minutes away, I'm driving over on the day before to check it out and ask a couple of questions.

I really just want to get it over with argh... but I just realized I don't know prokaryotic gene replication at ALL. Like, i've never seen it before in my life. And apparently, according to AAMC 10, the MCAT likes to ask very, very, very detailed questions about biology (*coughoogenesiscough*) so maybe I should look through it.... bleh 👎

Also, I hate insomnia. I hope I can sleep tonight. I'm so excited for when this thing is over with. I'll be able to get on with my life!

I didn't major in biochem because I was scared to take p-chem. Now I'm glad I didn't because I got two cool minors haha.

Buy nuts and peanut butter. Calorie dense with good protein/calorie ratio. 👍

Use Le Chatelier's principle to think about it and think about which way a reaction would go forward/reverse if you have a common ion...what would it do to your acid? You will have a weaker acid as a result. The reaction will not go to completion as much as if common ion wasn't there.
