Hey don't take MY word for it. Search the forum as to what some of the adcomm think about clubs and whatnot. If you've read it enough, unless you have a leadership position in the club--you're wasting your time. Still need proof? Go look through the 'what are my chances' section. Not a lot of kids in clubs, and if they are, they normally have positions. I say don't join more than 2, one is enough.

i honestly hate ithat I will never join a pre-med club. it's so pointless. i'd rather get volunteering hours on my own with things i like to do. besides i'd be kidna turned off if i saw an applicant joining a pre-med club.
what is this check list mumbo jumbo? Sure somethings you need to show off..leadership..volunteering..clinical exp...but these should be UNIQUE..not 100 hospital, 100 club housr.e..t.c..

what's going to make you a shiny star amongst all the amazing applicants out there? think about it 😛

I take everything on sdn with a grain of salt. It's easy to lie online when people don't know you. Sure people may not list it but sdn is such a small sample size it's almost silly to take it as fact. I've seen the type of threads you're referring to, but I've got my opinion and it's probably not gonna change unless I hear it from the schools.

Yeah, I know. All summer I was totally fine, then the two-week stretch when I have to take my MCAT, knock out a med school interview, AND start my (very hard) junior year I get slammed with mononucleosis. Which is official, by the way, my antibody test came back positive. I'm kind of scared :scared: Especially since this is going to be a completely crazy semester.
Heeheeeeeee I was back to my wild self today!!!!!! It felt SOOOO GOOD. Just in time, too.

Hahahaha yeah I actually have an interview through an Early Assurance Program tomorrow morning, I applied in June and got my interview invite in July (omg!!!!!). It's seriously one of my top choice schools and I'm so so so so excited for the opportunity, but they only accept FOUR or FIVE applicants so I don't know... I feel really lucky to have this interview. It's my dream school 😍 (University of Rochester)

OZZI OMGGGGGG CONGRATS BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope I scored as well as you did... I'm so apprehensive to get my score back.

Wow, are you taking pills for mono now? The mono can only mean one thing...you're totally gonna rock that interview tomorrow and get in!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be soooooooooo happy for you, but sad at the same time because you're gonna be leaving us class of 2017ers :laugh: I know things are going to take a total 180 for you and this year will be the best yet after dealing with so much trouble the last couple of weeks. Awwwww dude, you're the BEST, have I ever told you that???? 😀😀😀 Nahhhh bro, if I do get in by some miracle I'll still be Class of 2017 (they don't let people graduate early), so I'd totally still post on here! Ahhhhh I hope so, I'm so excited. It's the PERFECT school for what I want out of my medical career, and I've heard that they're very friendly and nice towards their interviewees. Even if my life doesn't make a 180 this year, I'll still make it an awesome one, even despite the mono!

sooo you guys know that i work a bajillion jobs..and money doesn't come easily to me..so when i finally got enough money to buy a laptop that i wanted (i haven't even yet, because i'm waiting for my paycheck), i told my best friend that i was getting a laptop! well what do you know? her rich little ass went to the store the next day and bought herself the exact same laptop *i* wanted to get. she didn't even have to work for it 🙁 her moms a lawyer and her dads a doctor..<<life is unfair. white people problem>>

now i dont even feel like getting one.
