Congrats! I've asked one so far, and he said yes so I'm just in the process of getting it all done. I know two more I want to ask, but I'm uber nervous and can't figure out when the right time is.
An example is my job: I've been working there for a year, and think they could write a great LOR BUT I may be too overwhelmed to keep working there next quarter so I don't want to ask and then quit or vice versa. Should I make space (somehow) to work, ask, and then quit at the end of the schoolyear? Or explain my busy schedule and as I quit ask for a LOR. The boss is super chill, loves me, and constantly hiring, so quitting is not as detrimental as in another workplace. Still, I don't want to be rude.
My boss knows I'm in the med school process, already I asked her to lower my hours for MCAT studying this quarter, so she wouldn't be mad I don't think. I just don't know how to slide in the LOR thing in there. Also, she wasn't the original boss when I started working (but she's grown to like me as well). Comments?
