Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wish we could just fast forward to August.

Nah. Tomorrow at 8:00. I'm content to have my responsibility-free winter break. Then we can fast forward to May, and I'll enjoy summer break. Then August. 😎

Sooo ready to play Dead Space 2, Deus Ex, BioShock and Mass Effect 3 this break. #sci-fi games overload.

Haha I guess I just have nothing to look forward to. All I am going to do is work :/ .

hahahahahaha +1 I bought a northface jacket this week on a whim because it was so damn cold. Guess I can use it when I head out to NY for school 😛

Heh, sorry to burst your bubble, but a northface is not gonna cut it in these North Eastern winters. Don't let us New Englanders fool you, we only wear our northfaces in the fall.

🙁 This is why it sounds like gap years are no fun.

On the contrary, my gap years were/are a blast. Just took up aerial silks, and my arms grew 10X in size. I still do work everyday, but I love my supervisors and co-workers.

Gap year is awesome! Especially if you have a bunch of friends from college who live in the same area you can all meet up after work without worrying about homework and exams  Everyone goes to sleep super early cause of work though 🙁

I have a friend from Hawaii who went to University of Oregon for undergad. She was at a loss on how to buy winter clothes.

Yeah, I definitely love my job but I've been waiting for medical school for years. I can't wait to start. Haha I suppose I should enjoy my free time now though.

I should explain.. the gun/knife combo reminds me of how it appears in your hands in CoD 😛

lol sorry that message wasn't meant for you. There was a post by some advertising spammer that I was pointing too. I guess the mods must have deleted it before you saw.

I saw that! It adressed us all as "ear Doctor,"

I miss being in school too. It's hard to see everyone you know studying for finals and writing papers when you're just sitting back, watching life go by as you wait for med school decisions. I'm itching to crack open a textbook and work my brain for once arggghh. My law and med school friends are like, "NO".

Yup.

This is going to be me. I don't understand winter...I am going to have to get used to actually looking at the weather forecast. In SoCal I just put on w/e I want and most likely I will be fine when I venture outside and encounter "weather." And I am going to need to buy hundreds of dollars of warm things......

u wot m8? Personally, first day of classes can take as long as it needs to get here.. I'm in a good place right now.

That happy medium where you're accepted but don't have to do jack squat yet.

Hit up those end of the season sales in a couple of months!

Scarves and gloves are awesome. A good scarf turns my North Face Apex into a full-on winter coat when I have enough layers on and don't feel like breaking out my huge coat 👍

That being said, if you end up going somewhere that can be cold, layers are your best friend!

Yes layers and also people always forget to layer their legs. Jeans do not cut it when it gets cold.

I am also mad because it is currently raining and my friend's place in the north of the state is getting 8 inches of snow

Eh, North Face makes some legit stuff if you know what you're looking for. Kept me comfy in New England down to ten below.

This is exactly how I feel haha

Yeah I have a NorthFace triclimate and it is the best coat I've had.
It's basically the fleece with a down jacket combo, and then a waterproof layer over it.

I love my Apex jacket! There's a northface outlet nearby...so I get all TNF jackets there. Although in California a V-neck and my apex usually suffices. I shall hunt for a good scarf now

I bought a Plasma Thermal jacket!

My Apex is almost 4 years old 👍 pretty much use it for every kind of weather where I need a jacket - when it doesn't suffice I breakout my Triclimate. The velcro strips around my wrist have all but fallen off and the cuffs are pretty frayed too, but it keeps truckin' on.

I noticed you're interviewing at OSU - it might not even be snowing by the time you get here  it's been raining all week!

🙁 I know what you mean. I hate this weather

We should have a thread get-together at a ski resort. It would be legendary.

By golly, it would! Or we can all be poor and "ghetto" (as some of us New Yorkers would say) and "ski" at Central Park. With two trash can lids and a walking stick made of a downed tree branch.

I also needed my gap years, I don't think I could have gone straight and stayed sane. I definitely needed to be in my twenties and irresponsible for 2 years before studying. That being said, I am getting sick of my job (lovely job, lovely people, just been doing this work too long) and cannot wait to quit at the beginning of July. Going to road trip.

Haha, new england uniform in the fall for girls: North face, leggings, and uggs.

In the fall? This is an every day thing for every girl at my college. No complaints here though 😀

edit: sdn class of 2017 ski/snowboard trip :O
