I slept through my alarm, got to work ~30min late. I blame the blackout.

LoL, that's one of the best things about my job: I get in at 6:30a, before anyone else other than my RA. I can occasionally sleep an extra hour and waltz in by 7:45a and no one knows the difference. I really wanted to do that today, but we have a site visit from our sponsor, basically an audit. I had to be in bright and early. Blegh.

Single. It was about the same last year so I'm hopeful it's not a mistake.

Sadly I will be putting all of it towards the mountain of application debt I accumulated.

Hah, yeah, you and me both, brah. The debt is awful. I had the bright idea to do my own the first year I had to use a 1040 rather than the 1040EZ. I calculated a killer return and then got a nasty gram from the IRS that I had made a mistake. Thankfully they didn't penalize me (probably bc I was a 21 y/o college student, lol) and just made the change themselves. I forgot to carry some figure over to an obscure line on one of the forms. Ever since I've been going to tax gurus and dishing out a bit of cash for a crap ton of peace of mind...and no math! I hate math, hence my 9 in PS. :/

Nice! My ex-wife apparently found a place that we can go for free. The only requirement is that your income is less than $57k. And let me tell you, when you're in academia and your ex is a grad student, that's a cinch. LoL Plus, everyone who works there has not only an accounting degree, but a year's worth of certified tax study. I was like, "MAN! Why the h-e double hockey sticks have we been going to H&R block and getting bent over the table!?" Better late than never, though.

Yeah and I got a ton back!! Mostly because I paid my last quarter of tuition so I got a nice credit(getting back more than I paid in taxes..:laugh:).

Wow nice. Last year I didn't put in my school tuition because I didn't know that 1080T (or whatever form it is) was on banner. I looked for it this year though and got an extra few hundred out of it 😀
