Soooo... I'm bored and watching Jerry Maguire for the first time. Pretty charming movie.

So far my semester GPA is 3.1. I still need to get a couple classes back. I got mostly B's though. Is that bad if I have to send my mid-year grades somewhere? :scared:

Not that bad, as long as you pass your classes and graduate you should be OK.

Gonna give my hand a try at far cry 3. I hear its pretty amazing so I picked it up today for the PC.

Any Emory accepted peeps out there???? just found out!!! waddup!!

Congratulations on the Emory acceptance!

I'm having trouble deciding on schools right now. Good thing I don't have to make a decision until Spring. :scared::help:
Can't really complain though. It's a good problem to have.

Anyone else really want to start apartment hunting?! I wanna find a place, but I'm still waiting on a few schools and waitlists could change everything. Not too sure when to start haha

Yeah, I'm excited to go to second looks if I'm still unsure. If I am sure, then it'll be sweet going to meet future classmates. Win-win.

happy holidays everybody. gonna do some wishful thinking here and hope out loud that i will truly be able to join this thread in 2013.

and definitely tagging along for the chinese food/movie

Well.. I have officially watched one season of HIMYM per day for the past four days. Finally caught up to the current storyline, and MAN I forgot how good the show is.

And congratulations Nandrolone! That's awesome.

Oh dear, three days into break and I've developed my addiction to The Sims again. :lame:

Taking Scientific Photography next semester, and we need to supply our own cameras. Can anyone recommend a budget SLR?

EDIT: I was looking at this particular one... http://www.buy.com/prod/canon-eos-rebel-t3-slr-camera-with-18-55mm-is-ii-lens-kit/220036283.html

You could also hunt eBay and Google reviews of cameras you're interested in/do the opposite and hunt it down. Additionally, does your school have somewhere where you can rent a camera? And does it need be a SLR?

I just woke up from a nap with a headache, chills, and pretty sure I'm rockin' a fever - back to bed for me. To all a good night!

Nope. There's normally not even close to the amount of people that justifies the school having a stock of cameras to loan out. Yeah, it pretty much has to be an SLR... Or I guess a point and shoot with manual functions.

Hmm, that's a bummer. I guess start googling for reviews of good budget cameras?

Also: GW2 is $30 on Amazon, 50% off! I was on the fence but I bought it just now. 😀

Waiting to see les mis now 😀 How was it my strange friend??

SLR but does it have to be Digital SLR? You can find cheaper old (not digital) SLRs all over the place. Then you have to develop the film and stuff but could be fun.

Yeah, it has to be a DSLR. I need to be able to upload pictures to a computer so I can photoshop and stuff. I think I'm just going to go with the entry-level Canon DSLR. Pretty reasonable at $300-ish.

Didn't see Les Mis, but I did see Django Unchained today (little weird watching with my parents.) Not Tarantino's greatest work, but decent none-the-less. Like Inglorious Basterds but with the issue of slavery in the South. 7/10.

Just saw Les Mis. Have to say, though there was definitely a certain lack of 'suspension of disbelief' because of the singing, it really got me. And there were some really impressive performances (Anne Hathaway, little guy who played Gavroche, looking at you) that weren't brought down by some male voices that weren't really up to the task (Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe both sounded like they were really pushing it at times). Plus I just about swooned for Marius 😛. Definitely good especially if you're in the mood for some all-out theater. Hope you enjoyed it!

Oh boy that ending was something else! I was like tear jerker movie my butt until the ending haha . Personally I liked Jackman's performance, but that might be because his character was the most developed. I didn't think Anne Hathaway had enough screen time, and I would have loved to gotten some more of her story. I think Russel was a bit of a miscast and Gerard Butler might have done a better job. Plus I think everyone swooned over Marius, my girlfriend sure did 🙄. At least the guys got Amanda Seyfried! 😍 I know this is going to run contrary to what a lot of people think, but I feel like the movie could've used another half hour to flesh out some of the characters/delve into some of the details that the movie glossed over. I definitely enjoyed myself though! 👍
