Super Sunday I'll watch the Reds crush the Scousers and then hopefully watch the Emirates disappear into a time-slip mid-game taking both teams with it.... Either way there will be goals because defense doesn't exist this season.

No they carry it.. it's part of the Spanish package though. I am almost positive the last time I tried we didn't get it.

No wants to pay for BeIn... the fact they popped in last year out of nowhere and started getting rights to some high profile games has driven people nuts. It practically made GolTV irrelevant.

Interesting. My provider includes it...we definitely don't have the Spanish package, just the regular one.


BeIn sports. The Sheiks are buying everything. First the big clubs on tv, now our tv -_-. Well, goltv still has Bundesliga...any takers? lol

I may be wrong, but I think that most schools know which applicants they want fairly early in the process. If schools could only have say double the amount they could accept as active applicants, I think the process would run much smoother.

Yeah, but EDP is for a very small subset of applicants.

I am guessing you have TWC (Second guess would be U-Verse)? Yea.. I'll check again on the weekend... but pretty sure for Comcast it's Spanish Package at least where I am it is unless it was a different issue I was having...

ie I was at a TV not with a box.
 
I think it's easy for us to say we want to be rejected already, but for those without an acceptance they probably appreciate still being in the running (even if the odds are dismal).

That system would be worst. I'm thinking of something more like the residency match. You rank your top five, schools rank you. You figure out where you fall. I think the average applicant only has one or maybe two options. The fight to get the 40 4.0 is where most of the waste happens.

ha...then maybe a solution is for each med school to pair up with another similar med school during the app process. Each applicant agrees to apply to essentially both schools, but only one SOM will accept. 😛

Actually instate publics could do this. The adcoms would combine, go thru apps, interview, and then accept/assign each student to a particular campus. The UCs might try this since the app process in Calif is crazy.

Yeah, but for those waiting who will be rejected this has to be torture. The panic thread is a sad sad place. Plus they could be using this time to make definitive decisions about their future and not just waiting.

I am going to pass on that one. Get ranked into a 100k COA school even if it was #8 on your list? Tough luck Sally.




In regards to further/not-rejecting cycle... Did it matter to you guys after getting into a decent shop. Definitely stopped mattering and anything new I take as a way to see someplace different for comparison and opportunity. Rejections (minus one school) were all whatever.

I like this idea, amcas does not go far enough in my mind. Med schools still run like they did 30 years ago, but with electric apps instead of paper. There are more applicants, things are more competitive. The system should change to some process where adcoms are combine and streamlined.

But that happens now. If you only get one acceptance and it at 100k COA school #8, would you not go?

No. You said it yourself. If that's the only school you go to. This would almost certainly be crapping on someone who most likely would have been able to go somewhere else in the current system.

Taking suggestions on what I should do until Last Resort... nm... ATH at 5... No work I need to accomplish today. Already ran 6 miles. Not a workout day...

Open to suggestions as long as they don't involve.

I think that each state's public SOMs could have a common app system where you apply to all (perhaps indicating a preference of campus), but can only get accepted to one.

"Folding laundry for my colleague showed me how hard we pre-meds have it. By helping ladymich fold her laundry, I suddenly remembered that being a physician is something that is rooted deep within my soul. I liken the folding of laundry to aiding an elderly patient in my future not for profit rural primary care clinic, slowly but surely helping them have a wrinkle free state of health. 😆

I swear adcom members must have lots of laughs throughout the app cycle.
