Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

I officially feel old: I just streamed the entire Supreme Court proceedings via C-SPAN and loved it. I never thought I'd have anything to do with that channel as a kid, teen, and young adult.

Cheers to approaching 30 and an obsession with legalities. Maybe I should I try for an MD-JD! not srs

As someone on the same side of his twenties as you... let me be the first to say..

I took a year of bioethics & I was amazed at how often the legal system gets involved in medical decisionmaking. Knowing your way around the system a little is beneficial for sure, but the JD isn't really necessary for most.

I poop (figuratively, of course) on both of you! 👎 In reality, this hits very close to home. I was raised by a single, gay father most of my life from the time I was 3 years old. Later on in adolescence I was raised by a same sex couple. My biological mother also found out she was a lesbian shortly after having me.

I know, it's rather scary (legal involvement in medical decision making). I met a physician at ETSU with an MD-JD. He prosecuted malpractice cases...talk about a controversial dude. He loved making us (the interviewees) feel uneasy, but was rumored to be an awesome and amicable clinician educator.

Word! 👍

C-SPAN is awesome!

Btw, apparently mixing humus and guacamole together is really delicious!

I laughed so hard at both of your posts! I always wonder how many others know who those 3 kids are in your picture, Beyonder, you know, if it "rings any bells" for 'em. :naughty:

I'm glad someone appreciated it. Agent B just completely ignored my little jab. Lol

Khakis with a sweater over a dress shirt.

Business casual? Yes or no?

Yes.

All these second look invites with "Business Casual" make me laugh because I know that generally means no jeans, etc but....If I showed up in California business casual I would probably get thrown out. I seriously had to buy new clothes for Vandy's "Business Casual with sports coat required." <-- SPORTS COAT!? I don't own one of those! (well I do now)

Also, yes. What kind of shoes are you wearing?

Yes.

😍😍 I'd love a reason to buy a new blazer..

Instead of a dress shirt, buy an oxford shirt like this. They look a lot better under sweaters (v-neck of course)

Yes. In fact, that is a nice combination.

I remember reading that in the email about their revisit weekend and was thinking to myself really... sports coat required... umm okay.

Are you going to Vandy's Second Look?? And Chicago's too right?

I was going to both but I recently decided to attend another second look that is during the same weekend as Vanderbilt's. Thank goodness I didn't buy my plane ticket yet. However, I am definitely going to Pritzkers, so I will see you there. (Maybe you can fill me in later.)

Ah nice! See you at Pritzker!

I hate you all. I wanna be back in Europe 🙁

Are you going to get an unlimited train pass? Otherwise.. that might cost a lot just traveling from place to place alone. I did a Madrid to Barcelona overnight train (didn't get a wink of sleep) and did a Rome to Florence train... which took a lot longer than I thought it would. Neither trip was that cheap IIRC and ryan air probably would have been cheaper.

If you stay in big hostels and cook some of your own food.. you could probably make it work. $3k for a month of that much traveling sounds a bit tight to me, especially with the conversion, but maybe I travel luxuriously 😛.

Ah so jelly. Scotland's one of my favorite places in the world, especially in the summer 🙂
Thank you so much for directing me to the unlimited train pass. If I take the right trains at the right times, I can just sleep on the rail and save some major freakin' cash and hassle. My pass would be about $1100. That'd take care of 90% or more of my travel and lodging if I plan wisely, saving me about $2k for food, a couple tchotchkes, and plenty of EtOH. Word!

Dude, if you guys go to Vandy's second look, LET ME KNOW! We can all have drinks! 😀
Just got my second acceptance! This is going to be a very tough decision to make for me. Time to create the world's biggest pro/con list...
Congrats! (Sorry I missed this earlier.) Isn't that dilemma an awesome one to have!? 👍 Choose wisely, my friend, choose wisely.

The unlimited train pass could be awesome but it depends on how flexible you want your plans to be - if you're ok booking your trips in advance, it could actually be cheaper to do that. I've been putting a lot of research into it for my own ridiculously wide-spanning eurotrip (Istanbul --> Paris, and everywhere in between) and this guy has been super helpful: http://www.seat61.com/Europe-train-tickets.htm. But the train is definitely the way to go if you want to be able to just jump on whatever train strikes your fancy...
