Agent B, eatcha heart out
Damn, I need to get back in on the top races.
I know. Lesson learned. I was actually going to tell my parents to e-file, but they had already done all of our taxes early (for once). 😳
Question, if I get an acceptance call from a school that I am currently on the waitlist for sometime after May 15th, how long do I have to withdraw from my other acceptance? Do I have to decide immediately? Can I wait a few days?

Great question, but I have no idea.
+1
...I'm pretty eager to find out as well.
I did e-file, but my return is in limbo just like yours, so that probably wouldn't have made a difference. Luckily, Penn state is going to let me manually enter my tax return.

Hopefully Jeff will let me do that, also. 🙁
I think it depends on the school that you are accepted from, it could 14-30 days if I recall. What I am not sure of is what are the AAMC/AMCAS rules on having multiple acceptances after May 15th.
6. After May 15 of the matriculation year (April 15 for schools whose first day of class is on or before July 30), April 30 for M.D.-Ph.D. programs, each school or program implement school-specific procedures for accepted applicants who, without adequate explanation, continue to hold one or more places at other schools or programs. These procedures:
a. May require applicants to:
1. Respond to acceptance offers in less than two weeks.
2. Submit a statement of intent, a deposit, or both.
b. Should recognize the problems of applicants with multiple acceptance offers, applicants who have not yet received an acceptance offer, and applicants who have not yet been informed about financial aid opportunities at schools to which they have been accepted.
c. Should permit accepted applicants to remain on other schools' or programs' waiting lists and to withdraw if they later receive an acceptance offer from a preferred school or program.
I was away. Sorry.

ya im going to go to penn state. thanks for the info!that's terrible.
Are you going to penn state?! I haven't "met" anyone on SDN that's going there yet! Um...I've basically been stalking the accepted students section on the website but it's all for last year so it's not actually for our class yet. But you can find the packet there at the bottom of the page along with a lot of other helpful links and pdfs from last year's orientation. Hopefully they'll post our stuff soon since our curriculum is changing so a lot of this stuff may not exactly apply to our class.
It's up to the school. Here's what AMCAS has to say:

The only thing they seem to say about acceptances post-May 15th is that the schools have to communicate with one another... and it doesn't talk about these at all on the applicant traffic guidelines 😕.
what is it?
Who are you? 😏
I'm Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme.
I think that I am going to copy your date +/- 1 or 2 days. I should have all the info I need by then. In some ways I feel like it can't come soon enough just to get it over with.
Yeah the number I had in mind the entire process was that you have 14 days to hold multiple acceptances post-May 15th. I believe it was mentioned at one of my interviews. While AMCAS (quoted in veggie's post) says schools MAY require a 2 week deadline, I'm pretty sure a lot of them follow it.
Hello, friends.

You're Irish III.
So how do I find out the school's policy? I think it would be kind of awkward to ask how long I have before I have to withdraw, both to the school I've already been accepted to and especially to the school that I am still on the waitlist for.
Bobby Moynihan is great.
bump. anyone have any thoughts on this?
Top?
