Scientists found the first tetrachromatic person and assume there are more out there. I wonder what it would be like to see the world in more than a combo of three colors. I feel like my mind would explode from the awesomeness that I would see.

I mean, what does a rainbow look like to them?!?!?!?

What other wavelength of light can this person see?

I assume that the world would not appear too differently, just different combinations of colors may arise. It's analogous to being color-blind for a certain color but the opposite.

I'd rather have a pair of mantis shrimp eyes.

Woah that is cool.

False.

The person can see 100 times the number of colors than you can.

A normal person can see 1 million colors and these people can see an estimated 100 million.

Alright so who else is pumped for the Xbox One???

Does anyone have any wait list wisdom? I've recently updated my wait list schools and don't technically have anything major to let them know of at this moment. I would like to call them to express my interest (and intent at one school) verbally but I don't want to go overboard.

Waiting on the ps4 announcement, but the new kinect looks sick!

+1. Still wait listed at my number one...starting to freak out irrationally that I've been passed over. I've sent lots of LOIs so I'm wondering what else I can do!

I'm indifferent to it. Wasn't really a big XBox fan and the stuff doesn't excite the gamer in me. Plus its probably gonna be $500+ and all the stuff about always online and no used games is pretty much a dealbreaker.

I need to get myself a 3DS though.

Haha well I suppose that's what I meant by different combinations of colors since he/she can sense 4 primary wavelengths instead of 3.

Haven't read the article yet, but I look forward to it during breakfast this morning.

Im definitely not pumped about the price either hahaha its gonna be outrageous.

Anybody who's having trouble making roommate plans because you're still waiting for decisions? How would you suggest approaching that?

Yep, I am. I think it totally depends on the situation... but I'm avoiding signing a lease until I know for sure where I'm going (probably the day before orientation, unfortunately). Both of the potential schools I'll end up at are close by, so I'll probably move my stuff into storage and stay in a motel or go camping until I know for sure which school I'll be attending.

Yeah man haha. Originally we were 'supposed' to hear back 1st week of may. Then we were supposed to hear back within the next week....that was 2 weeks ago lol. Heres to hoping we both get what we want!

Good luck! I've kind of mentally accepted that I probably won't get rejected until the day before orientation. 70 more days...

Yeah, although I'm only holding one acceptance and one wait list now (which is my top choice). Regardless of where I end up, I'm pretty stoked to be in this position 😎

No kidding its a good spot to be in! Heck of a lot better than zero.

yeah idk what to do...my one acceptance is in NYC and so far I'm holding out hope that I get in at my top choice--I've put out feelers for housing/roommates but nothing earnest. The prospect of having to move across the country if stuff falls through with my WL makes it more complicated. Ugh I just don't want to start looking far away because in my head it's me accepting defeat at my WL'ed school. But by mid-June I may have to start...

Sinombre, your situation sounds pretty solid. Lucky duck 😀

Good luck my friend! Hopefully we end up at the same place... :xf:

I'm surprised at how many people on here are moving cross country. I am moving from Arkansas to North Carolina this weekend, so I have a long 17 hour trip ahead of me. I was lucky enough to sublet an apartment for the two months before I start school, so I can look for a permanent place to stay during that time.

I couldnt imagine moving across the country. Shoot I'm only moving 250 miles away and it stresses me out lol

It's not fun, believe me. I have a cat that hates car rides with a burning passion, so that complicates it further. I sold pretty much all my possessions though, so that certainly helps. I have never lived outside of Arkansas though, so the newness of the situation is pretty exciting to me! Plus, North Carolina seems like an awesome place to live, so at least there is a treat at the end of this exhausting maze. Haha!

Hahaha no kidding. Good luck with the cat situation!!

Is he posting under a different handle or something?

Yeah, I just noticed over in Allo he's been posting as "nysegop1, 2, 3, 4, etc." Each one is banned almost immediately.

I'm only moving 90 miles away! A move is a move! :scared:

Awww, poor kitty 🙁 My two cats could barely handle the drive from CT to NYC (2 hours), so the idea of moving them 1,000+ miles away is kind of painful. If you find a good way to (safely) knock your cat out for the drive, let me know

Oh P.S. since we're moving out of NYC, hubby is totally going to let me get a dog!! Maybe now I won't have to coo at strangers' dogs on the street. (The owners act like I'm saying "hiiiii cuuuutie" to them and not the dog. I'm not that weird 😳)
