Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Haha... sounds like a bad combination. I actually have no idea how clean my new roommates will be. I don't know any of them at all actually :scared:

I don't know my roommate, either. All I know is that I'm a complete slob. I just have this recurring nightmare that my roommate will be of the 'Felix Unger' persuasion.

Also this was on the top of my fb news feed. It kind of creeped me out.

Lol. You mentioned what medical school you'll be attending in your profile.

Contain the mess to your room.

This. I'm pretty messy, too, and have had super tidy roommates before. As long as I didn't disrupt the common space, everything was cool. . . . that is really assuming that by "slob" you mean "I leave my clothes everywhere and rarely clean the bathroom mirror" not "By the time I wash my dishes it is easier to just throw them away and buy new stuff, I leave food sitting around and I have never owned a toilet cleaner".

Recently finished the "girly" version of P90X. You can see the before and after on my Facebook. I feel bad a**! Lol.

Just ordered Les Mills Combat. I haven't done martial arts in years but I can't wait to get it!

Are there options that make it reasonable for a girl with basically non-existent upper-body strength to do? A bunch of people in my class are thinking of doing Insanity. I'm currently training for a marathon, so think it would be a bit much. I've always wanted to do something like this, though, so might do it afterwards, but am I little worried that I won't be able to do a lot of the arm stuff.

Trust me. If I can do it, you can do it. Tony gives modified options to start with and you can work your way up.

Yep. He gives options with bands, using a chair for pull-ups and for push-ups, you can use your knees and work up to standard form.

And DrWhoDO, nice. I've done 2.5 cycles of P90X all told - great stuff for weight loss and getting into the fitness mindset.

Also. I'm addicted to Cheez-Its.

In all, 100% seriousness, as a girl, pole dancing classes. Changed my life. People ALWAYS make comments about my arms.

Mac users: I've never had a Mac and I'm about to pull the trigger on a new macbook air. If I plan on getting Office installed, will buying pages, numbers, and keynote just be a waste of my money???

DO NOT buy pages, numbers, and keynote. They are useless, especially if you have office for Mac.

Switching to Mac was the best decision I made.

Agree👍 Also, instead of getting Office for Mac, you may want to consider getting Parallels, which just allows you to run PC software on your Mac. Then you can use OneNote, which isn't available for Macs, and is AWESOME😀

I'm really tempted to get a Macbook Air. Thoughts on its value?

Go for it! It was just updated. I have an air and it's been great for 3 years. I'm going for the pro if it gets updated soon.

Same here. The updated version is supposed to run faster, and the battery life is amazing!

Keeping a Mac for personal and buying a PC for school. My friends who are all residents say in medicine everything is PC and there were too many things that were recommended in order to make my Mac compliant for all the required school programs.

It's a good computer. I just bought one a couple days ago. The battery life is, for all intents and purposes, infinite. The flash drive makes it very quick in loading anything. The processor speed looks really low on paper but that doesn't seem to have any practical significance so far.

Also, definitely get Office and not iWork. And check with your school to see if they will hook you up with a free copy of Office, because they probably will.

Just got back from Philly, still haven't unpacked from my Nashville to Memphis move, and am drinking a bit to get sleepy before prepping for a massive road trip.

Anyone want to summarize what I missed? 😳

Eh, nothing big. There's some political arguments going on in pre-allo.

I can't stand looking at the pre allo threads anymore. I really wanted to be one of those med students who is as helpful as Nick Naylor, but I dunno how he can stomach the ridiculousness/entitlement complexes.

I'm hoping allo gets better once everyone is in school.

Agreed. The amount of uninformed political debate (hostile, to boot - nothing like people who have barely studied economics or politics spouting off) and threads that can be answered by searching is giving me a headache.

Someone was up late last night.

Says the guy who only slept for an hour so far lol

:naughty:

Up and at 'em because it's leg day!
