Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah, EM is about the only place I see myself. I just love being down there. Anything that gets me more involved with EM the better. We have an EM residency, and they'll probably get sick of seeing me, so I'm not worried about it from that standpoint lol.

I'm loving the surgical specialties club. We've had one suture clinic and I did very well with those pigs feet, if I do say so myself. Lol

This pelvis thing......its going to kill me.

I don't know, head and neck is pretty brutal. However, we get to use a ultrasound today to see various arteries, vessels, muscles, and other stuff in the neck.

We just did suturing on pigs today--I didn't do so great. Stapling was awesome, though--I think everything should be stapled.

The doc heading the group was funny-"You better be good about sanitation or the nurses get really b*tchy."

So mad I missed that.

Anatomy starts this week for us. Pray for our souls.🙁

Personally, I think head and neck is the worst. Abdomen, thorax and pelvis isn't "that" bad but it still requires a lot of work.

Haha, I've actually been enjoying anatomy quite a bit. It's a lot of memorization, but it's nice to at least be learning some stuff that's new material (to me at least) and will be useful at some point.

Not that I haven't found these review lectures from undergrad biochem about hemoglobin's O2 binding curves fascinating...

Fantasy Football teams are dominating today. I really need to go grocery shopping.

Oh, and our first exam is tomorrow..

This is my feeling of head and neck. Only 4 more days of this stuff and then a test.

Oh, and free massage for me on Friday. I am totally looking forward to that!

You guys start with head and neck? That's just sadistic.

Nah, we started with thorax and moved on to head & neck a week later. One more week and it's on to abdomen. Our professor emailed us a quote from a former student this morning:

"I know God put me on earth to achieve a certain number of things during my lifetime. Right now, I am so far behind, I know I will never die."

:scared::scared::scared:

In other news I am reacquainting myself with drum n bass, which is some of my fave study music.

Nice. I prefer the same along with industrial (e.g., Hocico, Feindflug, Heimataerde), psy goa trance, post modern rock (e.g., explosions in the sky, mogwai, this will destroy you) while studying.
Omg. Dexter. I'm having an emotional breakdown right now. I can't handle this. I have lost all motivation to study for the week.
+1 for Breaking Bad, need to catch up on Dexter.

Post John Lithgow, Dexter has sucked. This past season has been meh at best. Breaking Bad > Dexter.

.

What kind of music is that? I prefer some nice, soothing flamenco music--I feel like I'm on a beach in California somewhere, rather than sitting like an inmate in solitary in my apartment. Seriously, Jesse Cook is the best.

Yeah, anatomy may not end up being my favorite subject.

Second major anatomy exam done. Now 3 weeks of head and neck, then I'm done with that ish...

That seems really fast  I have 1 week of pelvis left. 2ish weeks of H&N, 2 weeks of Limbs then DONE.

Halfway done with biochem!:woot:

And anatomy creeps ever closer, its ugly face foretelling a tale of woe and despair unequaled by the study of metabolism.

Meanwhile, it looks like it's time to say the last rites over this thread. It used to be so lively.

So... many... nerves...

Hopefully this thread picks up when all of our anatomy classes are over. I am jealous of you guys that are taking a year long anatomy that you can spread this stuff over. Rushing through it is stressful, especially for the people that have a weaker background in the subject. I have been putting in extra work to help the dental students that are in my group. Hopefully they repay me with from cheap dental work in the future.

:luck:

Yeah, I had to learn three nerves in anatomy this week. The year long approach isn't looking so bad.

Good luck, you'll be done soon!

I bought rubber shoe covers for anatomy lab. Now I can use my regular shoes, and they won't get soaked in formaldehyde!
