Is anyone else counting down the days until Thanksgiving break? I can't believe we have no breaks until then.

Congrats amigo! How was the party? I was gonna go but my accomplice in crime had to deliver a baby last night and I'm too lame to roll Han style (aka solo).
It was a blast and very much needed! And Han is never solo, he always has Chewbacca. So I know what you mean.
Got sucked into a really long discussion with my roommates (who are on rotations now) about deciding where to apply to residencies, what field of medicine they're interested in, what aspects of medicine they like, etc. and just got me thinking...
Anyone know of specialties that are heavily based in drug management and pharmacological intervention? I think those types patient-care settings are what I find myself enjoying best. This is, of course, based on my rudimentary undergrad experiences, but I'd still like to explore my options...
Anesthesiology seems like it should fit.

That moment when sleep and studying are in a fight for dominance.... That's now
Yeah that's one of the things that struck me as having a lot to do with drugs... We'll see how STEP 1 goes....
I hope you also love airway management and managing CRNAs. That's a huge bit of anesthesia you don't hear about a lot.

Believe it or not, primary care, psychiatry, and rheumatology are all HUGE in medication management. That's pretty much the bulk of what those fields do: titrate medications. Clearly, oncology is another huge field involved in pharmacogical intervention. Lastly, Infectious Disease does a great deal of pharmacological intervention in both short and long term. Another field you may want to consider is toxicology: they REALLY have to know their shizzy, not only pharmacologically, but also what happens when someone just randomly takes too much of ANYTHING, be it minerals, vitamins, herbs, etc.
I didn't know toxicology was a medical specialty; I know people getting a PhD in toxicology. It's a pretty interesting field, though (but not half as interesting as ID).
Whitewater rafting this weekend. Upper Gauley in WV.
So tired and so behind.. time to sleep
Nice! I did a long overdue and largely unintentional staycation via procrastination. LoL
One more episode of Orange is the New Black and off to bed!
You guys make me feel so unaccomplished. All I do is drink and nap in my free time.
Bro, I just came for free food and swag.
And a little information too I guess.
Yeppers peppers: IM --> Toxicology fellowship. The national poison control center is manned in Nashville and overseen by Vandy Toxicology attendings.
I'm enjoying a little break in study here in Seattle. Attending a few EMRA events at the ACEP13. It's actually been pretty informative.
(emra.org for info if you're curious)
Wow Seahawks. WTF.
WTF.
You can also do EM-->medical toxicology fellowship
I didn't even know it was going on and it's in my city. :/
