It's been a Fast and Furious weekend and I'm almost ready for 7! I hope everyone is doing well!!
This, @ProbablyAPenguin, is an embarrassment of riches. . . good for you, and choose with your head and your heart!Wahooo
I have officially heard back from all of my schools.
It's OFFICIALLY DONE.
Now I just need to figure out where I am going.
Here's an unrelated digression...it's fun to read into some people's usernames how old they presumably are.
@claduva94 < @WinterSoldier93 < [92] < @jsquared91 < @Tman90
Then there are the children of the '80s (or before!). None of us that I know of have our birth years in our usernames, probably a reason for that ... @ridethecliche @FriendlyFH @breakintheroof (and @Leslie_Knope too, no?)
I'm also obsessed with those threads, Sunflower!! Although, I'm prone to give very biased advice, especially if a school in California is part of the dilemma 🙂I'm weirdly obsessed with the "X SOM vs Y SOM" threads in the SSD forum... I love them. I'm not usually able to offer advice, since most of the time I didn't interview at the schools in question, but I like reading them and trying to help people come up with answers. I'm mildly disappointed that I don't have a big decision to make because it means I don't get to make a thread asking for advice and getting input from the wonderful SDN community hahaha. Which is super lame and strange, I know, and the vast majority of myself is super relieved that my decision is so straightforward.
Anyway, point is, you all who are on the fence should make posts and get advice! If I haven't already (or even if I have, haha), I'll chime in on your threads with input 🙂

Oh, you can definitely count on that!! 😀~*~*~*California dreamin~*~*~*~
You'll have to come visit me 😀

I am!I LOVE THESE THREADS SO MUCH AS WELL.
You're my go-to person whenever I'm in the throes of serious indecision (which is basically every waking moment of my life). I've been riding the cognitive dissonance bus pretty hard for the past few weeks. It's been a rough ride to say the least. I think once my finaid packages roll in I'll make one of these threads and beg for everyone's help. Maybe you can make a "Help! What speciality should I apply for?" thread in a few years. 😉
In other news: I'm stoked stoked stoked for second looks. I really hope they help me out, because I'm literally 50/50 on my two top schools. I keep telling myself this isn't supposed to be a problem... but it is. I know that by April 30th I'm going to have to turn down some schools I truly love and it breaks my heart. 🙁 Anyone else in a similar pickle?
I have found myself responding to these surprisingly often. Sometimes, though, they remind me of the well-meaning but useless advice one can get IRL.I'm weirdly obsessed with the "X SOM vs Y SOM" threads in the SSD forum... I love them
Happily, stressfully, very much so.I know that by April 30th I'm going to have to turn down some schools I truly love and it breaks my heart. 🙁 Anyone else in a similar pickle?
You know, I've been meaning to say "OMG YOU'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO BOTH SCHOOLS IN THE BAY AREA!! YOU'D BE INSANE TO NOT ATTEND ONE OF THEM!!!" But that wouldn't qualify as impartial adviceI have found myself responding to these surprisingly often. Sometimes, though, they remind me of the well-meaning but useless advice one can get IRL.
"Definitely, definitely go to School X."
"No, my cousin went to X and didn't learn anything. And anyway you'd be crazy to turn down School Y!"
"Come on, go to whichever is cheaper. All med schools are the same. Life is boring."
Sometimes the dilemma and the responses are really interesting though. I think they work best when the OP is open and honest.
Happily, stressfully, very much so.

I am!
I really love several of my schools and will be happy to go to any of them!
And I will be sad to not go to the others 😛

Alright, I really have to leave you and @hellanutella alone 😀
Wtf did sunflower and hellanutella both get into Stanford?
I'll likely be making one of those soon, I'm really stuck on my decision between three very different schools.I'm weirdly obsessed with the "X SOM vs Y SOM" threads in the SSD forum... I love them. Count me in for another "Please guy, help, what school should I pick?" thread. I'll tag you all in so you can be sure not to miss it when it comes. Ha! 🙂
+1 Was about to post the same thing lolololololSame! I'll be making one for my one acceptance vs. no med school at all trollolololol
You mean 3 years...in 4 years, we will all (hopefully) have matched into the specialty we wanted. #orthoallthewayIn 4 years it'll be specialty X vs specialty Y heh
Haha I was thinking about making one of those threads, too (and I LOVE reading them, usually have no input however). I have about four schools I'm looking at, so that might not go over well - guess I need to narrow it down further before I ask for help. I'm honestly so confused and anxious right now! It shouldn't make that much of a difference, but I wish the decision date was still May 15!

@sunflower18 @hellanutella @breakintheroof @ProbablyAPenguin I will probably make one of these threads soon! I expect you guys to chime in haha!😀
*pounds fist on table* I LOVE THESE THREADS. Bring 'em on. They distract me from my own choices.
'19ers: do one of our brethren, @TxC, a favour and weigh in on his Penn State vs. Drexel thread. I fear I'm woefully unqualified to speak on these two schools, as I have never visited them, so I can't contribute more beyond the cheesesteak vs. Hershey bar debate.
Thanks sunflower! I'll post a link here once I make it, but I want to get all the financial info before I start it 🙂
Yesssss!!!OMG YESSSS. Will this be the Indiana vs. MCW dilemma?
I mean my vote is for Drexel @TxC, I swear I'm not biased here.....*pounds fist on table* I LOVE THESE THREADS. Bring 'em on. They distract me from my own choices.

I still think you should have waited til the bitter end cuz you never know what'll happen. Then again, waiting sucks and you had less of an incentive to wait than me lol.You know, in a perverted way, I'm somewhat glad to have gotten waitlisted at a lot of schools cause that made my decision really easy.
Not that I'm displeased with my school choice, btw...😏
SDN has answered your call, Nutella.*pounds fist on table* I LOVE THESE THREADS. Bring 'em on. They distract me from my own choices.
