Didn't see one yet so I figured I'd start one. How we feeling. Getting down to the wire.

Anyone else about ready to knock on their chair's Porsche window to submit that last letter? Anyone else doing a reverse uno card and applying into a complete opposite speciality?

Heya. Submitted my apps already so not panicking per say, but here for the ride. Good luck to everyone!

Waiting for my last letter today, then submitting tonight.

Woke up at 3 am and couldn’t sleep for an hour because I dreamt that today was Wednesday and I missed the submission date. Then I dreamed that residency programs were offering an interview if you won in bingo.

Then I dreamed that 2 residents at a program I really want to match into hated my guts, so I was DOA at that program.

I’m clearly adulting well. Doesn’t help that my school has screwed up my MSPE twice and I had to panic text the dean at 9 am last night being like how does the school get my grades wrong on my MSPE?

Anyone have an idea of how to determine which programs want a gen surg chair letter? If the website simply says, "three letters of recommendation" and doesn't specify chair, does that mean we don't need to submit the chair letter?

I would think they would specify if they specifically wanted a chair letter.

I'm not applying GS, but I'm sending the chair letter to everyone. I think that's generally the move

I’m fortunate enough to have one dean in the school that really cares about the students. Im sure nobody would be shocked they are a pediatrician.

So how much are y’all getting robbed by ERAS? I’m dual applying neurology and psychiatry and am down 1700. I cut out a bunch of programs I literally cannot justify applying to programs that are not region signaled or actually signaled.

Had a weird situation last night where ERAS was submitted but my payment didn't go through. Spent all morning calling ERAS and AAMC tech support before it finally got squared away. What a start to the season :nailbiting:

Just got an email from CHOP (applying peds) that they are reviewing my application….that was fast!!

They are the only program I’ve gotten an email from so far. But still, exciting to see everything moving forward!

Damn was up until like 3 last night getting everything assigned and now I wonder if the LOR I sent literally everywhere has a red flag in it since we didn't meet under the best circumstance

Even with dual applying...how? How many signals did neuro and psych get this year? Surely many of the programs you applied to would be...unnecessary?

When in doubt, follow the directions. I would not submit a chair letter to a given program unless specifically asked to.

Chair letters are often best classified as letters of evaluation, sort of like a premed committee letter that summarizes information from multiple faculty. The chair can usually offer no personal recommendation (the R in LOR) since he/she doesn't know the applicant.

Question on Sub-i grades on transcript importance. I am dual applying (Nsgy and peds) because my Step 2 score came out way below where i needed it. I did a peds sub-i at my home program and honored and it's on my transcript uploaded from my school. i did 4 nsgy rotations but only one made it onto the transcript - also honored . i have really good LOR's from all of those submitted on time but my school is very slow processing grades. I think all of the remaining nsgy sub-i's that will have grades come in late will also be honors as the feedback i received was really really good and i got what i understand to be strong LOR. But if that's just reflected in my LOR's but not grades on the transcript is that going to be ok? or do i need to ask my school to reupload when those come in even if it's pretty late.

I've seen things in the past about school only uploading third year transcripts so not really a problem. I think I only had one program on my application list that mentioned sub-i grades.

my program doesn't even name them the specialty I did, just "elective"

How are we doing, my friends?
For those of us with rolling IV’s, what are we doing this weekend to take our minds off? lol

Personally going to spend time with the S/O and do my best to not be stressed out about the number of IVs. 🫠

Does anyone know if programs stratify the review of apps? Feeling like I have way less IIs than many people

Definitely stratifying by name.

My friend and I have almost identical apps, but I have noticed I got IVs sometimes hours or days later at the same institutions because I'm near the end of the alphabet and his last name starts with A.
Interesting.

I think some programs are also stratifying by signal, which makes intuitive sense (review golds first, then silver, then non-signals, etc.).
