Class retake question

I know that in M.D. schools they average your grades together, but do your grades averaged together need to equal at least a c to get credit for it, or does one of the grades have to be a c?

For example, if you got a D- in a class retook it and got a B, but your averaged grade together was a C- would you still get credit?
