In choosing a dental school to attend, how important is class size to you? What do you consider a large class? At this level of education (post-undergrad) do you believe class size has as much of an importance? Especially because you are broken down into smaller groups anyways.

With the exception of NY there are 11 ds with enrollment over 100 so class size should hardly become a concern since not many will have the luxury of making decisions based on this premise.

I go to a massive undergrad where it's common to have hundreds of kids in just one section of a class. Even NYU is small in comparison for me. Places like Harvard and UConn might actually be too small.

what concerning 'too small' of a class worries you?

Class size is not really a factor for me (/w the exception of NY which I didn't apply to for this very reason). Personally, I'm just hoping to get into one dental school and I'll be more than happy! The true reason for my post is that I'm trying to pass time until decisions come out in December.

anything over 100 is a large class size. If you want to get noticed, not have a difficult time getting references and knowing the profs, then I suggest a smaller class size. Plus you have more opportunities to meet everyone and such. If you're wondering, Tufts and BU are my backup schools, and yes they have large class sizes. Not where I wanna be, that's me personally.

I might get sick of seeing the same 30 - 35 people all the time. I've always gone to big schools - high school and undergrad, so I'm used to floating around between different groups of people and being able to change things up and take a break from the same group of people all the time. But I don't really care about class size, TBH. I answered the question that was asked, but I'm not considering class size at all when picking schools. I would only consider it when applying if the class size is too small and if I'm not competitive enough to make that particular school worth applying to.
