Class suggestions

I'm a post-bacc applying for 2010. I've taken all the pre-req's (gen chems ochems, bios and anatomy.)

Should I take biochem and physiology in my swing year?

Well your goal is to get into dental school. So if there is a chance these calles would decrease your science GPA than I wouldn't, however if you feel you can do well in them than by all means pursue it.

I can't remember, but don't some school require biochem?

Some people may say that these classes will prepare you for dental school, however if you do poorly and these classes exclude you from getting accepted than they were worthless. Everything you need to know you learn in dental school.

Hope this helps.

I know some dschools do require biochem, UF & Maryland off the top of my head, and many others strongly recommend it. I believe physiology is required at a few schools as well...if you think you can stay focused and devote the time to do well in those courses, I say go for it, because you're better off over-prepared for some schools than under-prepared for others.

since when was anatomy a pre-req?

I'm sorry for the lack of clarity--I have taken anatomy in addition to the pre-req's and will take physics this summer.

Getting good grades isn't a problem, but I am trying to decide between working in a dental lab/dental office, or taking physiology and biochem. In a perfect world, I'd like to do both.

Advice?
