Hi SDN,

So, I will be finishing up my 4th year soon, and I had put down some courses that I was planning to take, but I've decided to drop some. They're not prerequisites, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any consequences if I deviate from the courses that I put down for "planned" under coursework on AADSAS?

Thanks in advance!

From my experience, schools care most about you finishing the pre-reqs and your degree if stated that you would. I dropped a course in my spring semester before matriculating and all UCSF asked was that we let them know so they can update our planned courses. But it really is one of those case by case basis and a quick email to the interested schools should alleviate your concerns. The schools will probably ask themselves did we choose this applicant partly because of the planned courses stated or would we have chosen him/her either way in spite of them (considering pre-reqs and degree still obtained).

I was going to take them out of the order that I had originally planned and was thinking about dropping advanced biochem and art, which I don't really need, so I wouldn't be deviating too much. Thanks a lot for your input!
