I apologize if a similar topic was brought up previously but I've been having a dilemma about a class this semester. I'm debating between taking a graduate level organic chemistry course that's only offered this semester or an upper level bio class or liberal arts course. My gpa is a bit low and I didn't do too well in orgo so I was thinking that doing well in the advanced orgo might make up for some of my poor results. However I'm a senior and am slightly behind on some of my major requirements. Also I'm pretty sure I'd do pretty well in the bio or LA class and if I forego the bio or LA class I'd have to take at least one more course next semester. Also there's no guarantee that I'd do real well in the orgo course.
So do you guys think that the chance of doing well in the orgo outweighs not taking the easier courses and fulfilling the reqs and probably having a higher gpa? Thanks and sorry for the huge question

Risk vs. benefits analysis

Take the Orgo Class
-Do well, get a GPA buffer, have to take an extra class next semester
-Do terribly, lower GPA, have to take an extra class next semester

Take the Bio/LA Class
-Do well, get a GPA buffer, complete a major req.

From your description, the best choice would be Bio/LA. You can't get into med school if you don't graduate, and playing lotto with your GPA isn't a good idea either.

I would go with bio b/c with this class u will complete major requirement...

I'd say go w/ the bio/la course
