hey everyone
im a second semester college freshman, and im registering for Spring classes right now and I'd like to hear some advice from all of you..

I'll try and make this short but here is a little background..
So far, I am on track as far as graduation requirements go, and have taken a semester of General Chemistry and a Gen Chem lab for pre-med reqs I have done well in both classes, I didn't want to take too many sciences at once, since this has been my first year and I was on the womens tennis team.

But recently I've gotten injured and I'm not going to be able to play tennis for awhile :S At the same time, I decided that I really want to become a doctor and so I want to do everything and put all of my energy into getting into med school, and with tennis it was hard to do.

So for next semester, my plan is to take:
- Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (its a fast-track class so I get the whole year out of the way)
- Cell and Molecular Biology (do any of you know if Principles of Bio or Ecology could count for this?)
- Cell and Molecular Biology lab
- Humanities

This is a total of 14 hours, so I thought about taking an easier 1 or 2 credit class to meet my credit requirements, since I'm taking three science classes, and the organic is a full year.
But I talked with my advisor, who told me that THAT WOULD BE FINE IF I WAS STILL PLAYING TENNIS. But he said 15 credits seems like too little, and that in med school I would need to take about 25(?) credit hours, and med schools needed to be able to see that I could do well with a more heavy courseload. So he suggested that I take calculus or statistis on top of that, which are each a 4 credit course.

I dont know what to do... I know that a pre-med's curriculum is not easy, and with volunteering and trying to manage a social life and everything it only adds to it.. and I know that med school competition is very tough.
I'm intelligent, but I'm not one of those people who can take 21 hours and still manage to get a 4.0. I get A's and B's but like to not kill myself and I try to enjoy college and have a decent social life. Basically I wouldnt mind taking an extra year or a semester if it meant that I could take my time a little bit and really get the most that I can out of my college years.

But for pre-med.. I just don't know if my ideas of taking 15 credits and studying abroad or taking 1 science at a time can even be considered realistic.

Sorry I've made this so long but I just wanted to give a little bit of background information so you could understand where I'm coming from. Like I said I'd love to hear honest opinions..

I had a couple of 14-credit semesters and lots of 15-credit semesters. As long as you have full-time status, med schools don't care. Try to do other ECs if you aren't going to be playing tennis, but make sure to keep your grades up.
