Looking at certain schools I noticed that in their curriculum instead of having them listed separately like histology, physiology, biochem, etc.... They tend to combine them into one integrated course. ex: NYU has science to basic practice dentistry I and so forth. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to this setup?

well...if you combine them, you have less number of grades to deal with, so if you bomb one section, it would be more difficult to make it up.

But in the case of NYU they have it as a sequence of 6 courses.
