I was just wondering what classes people felt benefitted them or that look good on transcripts. I have a good gpa with pharmacy experience but I have a feeling a won't get in this year after bombing the PCAT. After next semester I will have 81 credits done. I go to a two year school(not a community college) so unfortunately they do not have a biochem class(which I want to take). I am thinking of doing one more semester there if I dont get in then transferring to a 4 year school to take Bio chem(the semester before I would (hopefully) be going to pharmacy school). For the first semester what would look the best.
I was thinking spanish maybe? A medical terminology class? Health care ethics course?

Thanks!

What classes have you already taken?

Have taken: Chem 1&2, Bio1&2, Calc Honors, Religion(required by my school), Eng101&102, Philosophy, Microbiology, Statistics, Sociology

Currently taking: Physics 1, Organic 1, A&P 1, psychology, and microeconomics

Next semester: Physics 2, Organic 2, A&P 2, computers, public speaking, and a history course

Nice. If you want to take random classes the only ones I can think of are Biochemistry and Biology lab. Spanish and ethics classes don't really matter much but upper level science courses does.

What I would do is to work on a Bachelors degree in some science field.
You're a sophomore right? If you don't get accepted then in junior year you can plan your schedule according to your degree and reapply for pharm school. If you don't get accepted again then during senior continue to take classes for your degree and reapply as a degree holder.

1) Biochemistry
2) Molecular Cell Bio if you can find it

Then look up the professional curriculum for the different schools and decide from there.

Biochem and Immunology.

We had a class called Biology of Toxins at our school which was awesome too so maybe look around for something like that.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful! I just have to find a cheap enough 4 year school to go to. Money is the main problem. Dont need to rack up 40K in debt before even going to pharmacy school hah

Thanks! This was what I think Ill do. Just gotta find the right school 🙂

My vote would go for an Anatomy/Physiology class, if one is offered.

My undergrad Mamm. Phys class is saving my ass so far this term.

I would suggest (science classes): Immunology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry

(other): Medical ethics, medical terminology (is that the one you said?), and any health-care related courses would be good.

Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Genetics..that's what I'm doing. Also, some schools are stressing they want undergrad research, whether you shadow someone or do your own for credits.
