Hello

I am trying to find school rankings classified by which school is best at matching students to the different surgical specialties. Specifically I'd like to know about general, orthoped.*gen. can also be done with a neuro fellowship correct? If you'd just like to tell me the top 10 in each category that would also be fine. I did do a search but only found out about the schools with the best associated hospitals for general surgery. Thank you!

I'm not sure if I'm capable of surgery or if my wish will come true but I will try.

You aren't going to be able to find a "ranking" of schools based on how they match students into various programs. "Highly ranked" schools probably are more successful at matching students into competitive residencies, both locations and specialities. That being said, it doesn't really matter what school you come from, it matters what you did while you were there. What I am saying is no school really prepares you any better than another for surgery and gives you an advantage when applying to residency. What you will be able to find is medical schools with good residency programs in surgery, orthopedics, etc. It never hurts to be at a school with a good program in what you are interested in. You will get to know the doctors in the program during your four years and that may help you out. Again though, that being said, you are pretty likely to change your mind on your field. Bottom line is that what you are requesting is something that doesn't really exist.

Thanks.

I will look into schools with good residency programs in different types of surgery. I may change my mind in a few years but it will be nice to be prepared if I don't.
