I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the student housing at CC? Is it good, bad, or ugly? Would appreciate any info! Thanks.

In OH?

It sucks. It's tiny and cramped. Bunk-bed. Likely will have a roommate.

It's located in the TT building. Is an "on call" area for residents within certain depts.

What are the rooms like? Fridge? Sink? Closet? Dresser? Laundry nearby? Workout area? So many questions....

Tiny room. There's a desk where you can do work/read, but my roommate nor I used it. There's a phone, which we never used. Some shelf space. No actual drawer or microwave. There is a lounge in the 3rd floor open to all med students and residents with your ID card. There is a microwave, TV, couches, computers, some foose-ball type games.

Back to the room: consists of a mini fridge. There's a door to the bathroom connected to the room (when you enter, on your right). Also, when you enter the room, to your left is the sink. Next to the sink may be space to get linen and to hang your clothes (if I remember correctly - that's your "closet"). Laundry is done outside within a laundromat close to the hospital. Gym is on the other side of the hospital (and very ****ty). You'll get a better idea of "where" the gym and laundromat is when you're there on orientation prior to start of rotation.

Thanks for all the info! Clears up alot of questions.

Do you need a car if you live on-campus? Or is all the stuff you need within walking distance? How safe is the area where The Cleveland Clinic is?

Agreed.

There are a lot of dining options within the hospital. Au bon pain is teh best, but unfortunately, the student on-call meal allowance is not covered. Only the caf covers those. They also have a tex-mex option, and McD's... lots of what I ate was Au bon pain, the tex-mex restaurant, and some caf.

I loved the restaurants along down the area where Case Western/Post office area was. Don't remember street names. There was this one Mediterranean restaurant that had kick ass falafel wraps for cheap! 😍

There is AC/Heating in the rooms, but whether or not it works is room-dependent. Mine worked, I know a few others had issues. I was there during the winter season, so heat was definitely an issue for some.

Guess I was lucky, the gave me a single room on the 6th floor. But the A/C did not work properly and it was usually very cold in the room. I had a fridge and a bathroom that was shared with the next room.
What I think is really annoying are the overhead pages on the hallway all the time.

Unfortunately no grocery stores nearby, only a right aid within walking distance. The mentioned restaurants at University Cirlce are a 20min walk away (safe).
