climate issue
Started by citixen
the midwest is gray 75% of the year
Pacific Northwest: UW, Virginia Mason, and OHSU. It's rainy from about mid-october until may.
Seattle will be a little cloudier than Portland

Why in the world would you want this? To rationalize being inside a hospital for 60hrs/wk?
sorry for this weird question ,but what programs/states/region should one consider when wants not too many sunny days/sun exposure , the less the better
i'll be greatful for any input)

OR or WA would be good. WV and NH are surprisingly cloudy. I would probably also consider upstate NY, like Buffalo.
Based on prior posts, I'm imagining a foreigner with little melanin who is concerned about UV exposure? It's fun making up back stories...scudrunner said:Why in the world would you want this?
Seattle is a terrible place to be if you do not like sun. Shure there are tons of overcast days in the winter (not always as many as you might think), but in the summer it you cannot tolerate sun you are SOL. Although the temps outside are great, the extensive lack of air conditioning in the residential structures forces you outdoors into the sun.

University of Rochester.
Solid program, with the second most overcast days of ay other city in the US (seattle hits numero uno).
Otherwise, when you're interviewing, just ask if anyone there knows what the term "lake effect" means.
If they do, you've got yourself a winner.

They all sound equally miserable to me.
I suggest sunscreen and a hat😀

come to cleveland, the weather here is absolutely terrible for half the year. if you come to cleveland there is no reason to go anywhere but ccf.
ranking those programs:
CCF > UPMC >>>>>>>>>> U Rochester, Case/UH, U Buffalo, Case Metro, SUNY Upstate

Sorry, but I can't get it out of my head. The thought of foreigner + UV intolerance = me thinking of Bram Stoker characters. Or at least, a game of Vampire: The Masquerade. Makes me snicker.
However, I am sympathetic to UV intolerance. I would probably go nuts without sun exposure.
The only think I can think of is wearing head to toe clothing. Clouds don't stop UV.
