Hi everyone,

I have just finished my 2nd year of medical school (first clinical year at my school). I have organized a clinical elective in ophthalmology. I just wanted to get general advice on what I should do to prepare for the elective and perform well leaving a good impression. How can I make the most of it?

I have been studying ophth on my own as we do not get much teaching on it until 3rd or 4th year. It's a specialized field so the focus on it is always minimal at least at my school.

I plan on trying to meet different people, asking them suggestions to help with my application, and also trying to get involved in some research or try to do some presentations at grand rounds or meetings.

Any advice?

Thanks
