Hi guys. I live in Canada and am struggling to find hospital volunteer positions that would be considered as clinical experience. There are a lot more positions that I would be able to get if I was to volunteer with a physiotherapist in a care home, but I am unsure if I should bother with this because I always assumed the reason for clinical experience was to learn about what a physician does. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

The reason why gaining active clinical experience is wise is so you'll know if you can tolerate interacting with sick and injured folks for the next several decades. To learn what a physician does all day, one generally also engages in physician shadowing, a passive observational experience. Sometimes the two can go together, like with a scribe position, phyisician office assistant, or as an OR tech.
