I've been volunteering with an AIDS support group. Although it is not in a hospital or formal clinical setting, participants in the group are those suffering from this condition. Many of them are currently in some kind of treatment..

The goal of the group is to offer a place for them to come and discuss issues related to their conditions, and I help to facilitate the discussion by offering support and tying their problems together into overall themes so they may help eachother in sharing experiences.

Could this be framed as clinical experience?

If you aren't a licensed provider and there isn't a licensed provider facilitating the group, it might be better to call it "non-clinical" and let reviewers "up-grade" it for you rather than call it "clinical" and have someone find fault with your categorization. Does that make sense?

You should have some experience in a setting where people are receiving clinical services by a licensed professional (it could be a clinic run by nurse practitioners etc-- doesn't have to be physicians) rather than only a support program for people with a chronic illness. I'd say the same if this was a support group for pregnant women or people with asthma or diabetes.

Thanks, I understand what you are saying.
