Would a 3 year long internship at an oral and maxillofacial surgeon's office (note, he did not have an MD degree, only DDS) count as clinical experience in a medical school application?

What would that be BESIDES clinical experience? Youre still working with patients.....OMS is stilll medicine.

Agreed. The distinction between medicine and dentistry is blurred in OMS. Even if the surgeon has a DDM/DDS without the medical degree, I believe it still counts as clinical experience.

Nope. If it was four years, maybe. AACOMAS will automatically delete this experience from your application if you try to include it.
