Clinical lab position

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You're a student.
You're spreading your time between your studies and supporting yourself (at least partially.)
Not only are you taking additional responsibilities beyond the scope of your studies, but your position is lending you insights to some of the thankless "behind the scenes" aspects of the health care field.
I would say these are all great things for a pre-med student to gain from a job during college - it sure as hell beats the pizza delivering and fashion retail jobs I had.

It's a green light from me ;-)
Good Luck @SynapticDoctah

Thanks for the reply. I actually graduated in June and taking the Mcat in April so I can apply next cycle. I'm working at this job full time till
Medical school starts (if I get in).

Check back tomorrow - this isn't exactly peak-time for SDN.

I recently started working at LabCorp as a specimen processing specialist. My duties are to load the machines with reagents, load specimens, clean machine probes, and scan specimens into the computer. Would this be something that would look good on my application?
It sounds like a position of responsibility that makes you part of a team, so depending on how you describe it and your understanding of why you are doing what you have been hired to accomplish, it could be a plus for your application.
