I plan on taking electives prior to applying for movement disorders fellowship. I have seen threads about strong programs, but I am wondering about how good the following centers are for a clinical fellowship:
- MassGeneral Brigham
- UPenn
- University of Minnesota

Wanted to hear your opinions about strengths and weakness of these programs.

There is a thread from before where I mentioned the current places to go after asking fellows. UPenn is for sure really good of the places you list

UMN is Udall Parkinson’s and does a lot of closed loop DBS and has really good MER exposure

Don’t know about MGH

Counterintuitively, I would rate UMN at the top of that list for clinical movement fellowship and is particularly strong in neuromodulation. Penn is also good with more of a clinical trials focus. Despite the brand name, I wouldn't really recommend MGH as a place to train clinical movement disorders.

What about other programs in the Midwest, specifically those at Cincinnati, Michigan, Iowa, and MCW? Specifically for clinical practice and not research

Cinci and Michigan are both excellent. Not very familiar with the other 2.

The top 4 Midwest programs for bread and butter clinical movement imo are Cincinnati (Espay), UMN (Vitek), Rush and Michigan in that order.
