Clinical or not?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Here is the description:

"The CareThrough Care Navigator works with patients, families, providers, and clinic employees to promote timely access to needed care, provide continuity of care, and to educate patients about self-care management responsibilities. Part of the focus of this position is to connect patients with appropriate outpatient care and outpatient resources to decrease avoidable emergency department visits."

Well, the word "patients" is in the description so you are getting close to meeting my definition. Is this an opportunity to sit face-to-face (once the pandemic is over). The Navigator helps the patient with appoinments and self-care instructions and it seems like there is someone who accurately makes a record of what was said to the patient. Is that right? Sounds like a scribe position.

Anyway, see my sig line.

I read more of the material on the website you linked to. It looks to me like this is a for-profit company that is hiring pre-med students who they can run ragged and work to death in a fast paced environment for a pittance in order to maximize the return on investment. It is clinical employment and an opportunity to be a cog in a corporate wheel. Sounds like great training for 21st century medicine. It is late and I am cynical. 🙁

I believe so. From what I heard from friends, navigators meet face to face and follow up by connecting them with outpatient resources, resources regarding any disparities they are facing, and overall making sure they follow their plan when discharged.
