At Carilion Clinic the Pharmacists are the medication experts and members of the patient care team. By having pharmacists partner with other disciplines, we are improving the care we provide to our patients.

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 791-bed teaching, tertiary care facility with Level 1 Trauma. The pharmacy department at (CRMH) utilizes a mix of centralized and decentralized clinical staff and clinical specialists to provide pharmaceutical care to patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics and from outpatients to patients in intensive care units. The pharmacist to technician ratio of 1 to 1.

Carilion utilizes a number of technologies that include:
* integrated medical record
* computerized order entry and verification
* automated dispensing cabinets
* point-of-care bar-coded administration systems
* centralized carousels.
* smart IV pumps

Candidates must possess good leadership, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to effectively budget time, work efficiently and accurately and follow procedures with minimal supervision. Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills are required. Must posses the skills to interpret medication orders and review them for safety and effectiveness. Must be a graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE. Hospital experience and/or residency preferred but not required. Responsibilities include providing age specific pharmaceutical care by partnering with the interdisciplinary care team, educating, consulting , reviewing and processing orders. Provides leadership and supervision to pharmacy technicians and clerical personnel as assigned. Possible opportunities for precepting students.

Work Schedule:
7-days on\ 7-days off, 9:00pm - 7:30am, 40 hours per week.
