Hi-

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to what exactly clinical research involves/is? I've done a little bench research so I know what that is like. Thanks.

Hey there Mr. Turtle,

Well, I think you can define clinical research as anything involving human trials/experiments with human subjects. I'm in clinical research. I do the bench work on a clinical trial and have been doing so for 3 years now. Although I don't interact with the patient a whole lot, I make it a point to meet with them and make myself available for any questions they may have.

Our group meets weekly to discuss outcomes and potential patients with our research nurse. That part is really interesting to me.

I think there is clinical research that may also be based on interviews with subjects and would fall under public health.

I hope this helps!
Michele
