I'm applying to DO schools and was wondering if anyone could fill me in on what you actually get to do and what kind of patient contact you have on your rotations in different specialties? In other words, how hands on? What will I be doing for patients?

There are several old threads that only gave me a high level idea of what goes on.

A Google search would serve you well. FWIW the DO/MD students that rotate at the hospital I work at scrub into the surgeries and fill out prescriptions (looked over afterwards by the doc of course) and most other things a physician does. I work in surgical services so these are the students I see. Usually you do most things a resident would do. Dependent on location and preceptor vs ward based as well. Every experience is a little different.
