I hope this isn't a redundant thread, but I thought it would be helpful to all of the 2007 applicants. What schools do you consider clinical schools, and what do you consider research schools (I know I could have used a thread like this 🙂 )?

Of the schools I applied to last cycle, I would offer the following:

Clinical:

University of Detroit Mercy (they also have some research)
Nova Southeastern University (they also have some research)
Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health
University of Southern California
Temple

Research:

University of Michigan
University of Kentucky
University of Florida

???:

University of Nevada Las Vegas

Please feel free to add/correct.

I know that most schools can't be perfectly placed into either in these categories, but any insight will be helpful.

I know Tufts has a strong clinical program and they also do some research

This is super helpful! Thanks for starting this thread!!!

Harvard & Penn are also big on research
VCU (Richmond, VA) is big on clinical

vcu big on clinical? eh?

i guess it is 🙂

i would say Michigan and UNC are big on research
