I was going through the kaplan physics and gen. chem books and am confused on the difference between closed cycle (which they say temperature is constant) and closed system(where only heat and work can be exchanged). I can't find closed cycle definition anywhere online.

Closed cycle will probably be under Physics, Work and Energy chapter, where you're calculating the work on/by a system.

It looks like a square (on a graph) because it goes in a circle and since W = P(pressure) delta V(volume) with V on the X axis and P on the Y axis, there is no change in V leading to W = 0.

Closed system is what you said where heat and work can be exchanged is about gas molecules, so most likely in general chemistry, gasses chapter.
