Hi everyone,
Im new member, although I've read quite a lot of post in the past few days. Congrats to all of you who have taken the DAT, im taking mine in 6 weeks, I noticed that a lot of you are getting 20s but so far i havent seen a perfect score yet, to all you guys getting 21s,24s, 27s, do you know which problem you missed? My goal is to get a perfect score in at least one subject to offset another bad grade(probably math), Im currently taking the kaplan class, im beffing up the bio with ap bio cliffnotes. I have top score as well, little shaky on math, reading, pat. any input is greatly appreciate it

My advice after reading your post: don't waste your time trying to get perfect on one section if you have another area you're really weak at (i think you said QR was your weak point). If I were an admissions committee member I would rather see a student get say 24 on orgo & 22 on QR, than 30 on orgo & 16 on QR. Study your weak point! Good scores across the board are key I think. Also, don't waste your time studying AP bio notes unless you've mastered the notes you have for every other section from whatever your dat source is (kaplan, princeton review, etc.). I studied my butt off for the dat and never had all the stuff in my kaplan notes memorized. Be mature in your studying and goals.

Well put, Mithridates. In addition you will not know with absolute certainty which question you missed or the reason why - it's a question bank and the ADEA doesn't want to have to create new questions for every test. The DAT is scored on a non-linear scale and the score number is not proportional to the number of correct answers. Just because you missed 10 questions doesn't mean you will get a 20 (in fact it may be much lower). Concentrate on the material and don't worry about the specifics of scoring the DAT. Good luck!
