Article was updated yesterday to say we will be paid now. Which I guess implied they weren’t sure about it earlier.

this was either all clickbait from CMS or the fact that those in power in the government have no idea how things work in their department.

Medicare is part of the group of Mandatory services. now, claims may be delayed if there arent enough workers, but they are legally not allowed to arbitrarily place them on hold.


of the 2 options, im guessing admin didnt know tho i would not hold it past them to be spiteful...

Less than 10 minutes ago, I had an 86 year old drive over an hour for her follow-up, originally scheduled as a telemed appt but had it cancel it because she couldn't afford the self-pay price. She was pretty annoyed with me because I hadn't told her that telemed wasn't covered by medicare at her last in-person visit. I informed her that at that time it was covered, got her address and looked up who her Congressman is, and told her she should complain to them about it. She seemed grateful for the information.

How is that even possible? The money has to come from somewhere...like the CEO takes a pay cut?

medicare does not stop payment to hospitals during government shutdowns. the hospital lobby would ensure this.

medicare should not stop payment to doctors during government shutdowns. there is no big doctor lobby to ensure this.


i suspect that with such high volume billing done by hospitals and the fact that things move so glacially that potential blips would not affect the pace of payments from medicare to hospitals.

Does anyone know if telehealth through HOPD (Medicare and Medicaid) will still generate the practitioner RVU with this ruling or without as of now? No guidance or notifications from admin yet and patients have already been scheduled weeks/months ago.
