What is the difference between the two or are they the same?

in kaplan subject exams, i see that coelenterates included hydra, jellyfish, and sea cucumber. I always though hydra and jellyfish were cnidarians

Coelenterata is another obsolete term (like half the classification bull**** that is the 5 kingdom system) that includes cnidarians and ctenophora (comb jellies).

So yeah, you're right, they are cnidarians. I think schuams talks about this in the animalia chapter.
