I think I am well past the point of learning anything new before my test, but I was wondering if someone could explain these graphs to me. I've never truly understood them, although I can get the questions right on qbank. Any help appreciated.

there's 6 points on the CO-VR curve that you need to know well.

1. increased ionotropy (ex: digitalis)
2. decreased ionotropy (ex: beta blockers)
3. increased blood volume (ex: transfusion or decr venous compliance)
4. decreased blood volume (ex: hemorrhage or incr venous compliance)
5. decreased TPR (intersection of inc ionotropy + inc blood vol)
6. increased TPR (intersection of dec ionotropy + dec blood vol)

you are awesome! That makes everything so much easier! I was glad to see grunermann post this ?. when i was reviewing earlier, everything made sense but the TPR. you just saved my physio challenged a$$! Very nice to see it all on one graph. and very nice picture. did you do it yourself?

i drew something similar in my copy of first aid with color pens. it helped out, try it with the female reproductive cycle, cardiac pacemaker action potentials and how they change with various antiarrythmics, etc. it helps keep things consise and in one central diagram.
