Hey y'all, I'm updating my CV, and I have a co-first authorship on one of my papers, but I'm in the second author position because my last name came second. Have any of you faced a similar situation? Do you think it would be unethical/toolish to switch the order but leave a note at the end of the citation that the order was switched for emphasis? Thanks!

usually you just add an asterisk next to your name and the other co-author with a note that says something to indicate the co-authorship and it's clear. you don't really want to switch the order from how it appears on the actual paper.

Don't switch it, do the asterisk thing like how it is on the actual paper. I have a paper like this where I am co-first author and I am writing it as it appears on the publication, but I do note this is co-first author. This is already super impressive and IMO switching the order would hurt you more than help you. No need really 🙂
