out of curiosity, does anyone not drink coffee?

I hate coffee.

I don't drink coffee.

It's all about that 24 hour cold brew.

That's not enough... So basically placebo. Lol.
It's called tolerance bro. I've never been a coffee drinker, and I'm off and on with soda as it is so my tolerance for caffeine isn't that high. Ounce for ounce soda has about 1/5 the caffeine, but people tend to drink a higher volume of soda than coffee.

I'm getting into tea more. Any good brands/blends out there?
I'd suggest going to a coffee & tea shop, buying a cup of tea, drinking it, and taking note. Figure out what you like, and how much you like it, cause tea can be quite expensive.

That or buy a 100-pack of your standard green tea.

But drinking a little coffee is healthier than soda. Soda, diet or not, is not really good for you. I mean of course I drink it sometimes, but it sounds like you drink it too much. Switch over to coffee! You will love it. You can drink 2 cups a day if you feel like it... It is good stuff

Arabic tea is awesome. Got a few friends from Saudi and boy they make it good. If you're going for coffee, American brands suck, with the exception of dunken turbo. Brazilian coffee is the best in the world. Order it online and you won't be disappointed.

Be a man.

Roast your own.

I get some ice cubes and then before I start the coffee machine I put the cubes in a glass filled with some water. Then I drink that. I call it organic, iced, hyper-decaf, pre-coffee. Save on coffee beans and filters.

I'm a big fan of chai (spiced) tea and Darjeeling. Jasmine, too.
I love chai. I'll have to check Darjeeling out. Thanks!

I don't drink coffee or tea. I just don't like the taste. I like soda but I don't drink it for obvious reasons. I drink mostly water.

I would like to second this response, especially because I'm generally perturbed by how some pre/accepted/current med students take care of themselves. How can you be an advocate of health with planks in the eyes? Like that guy in the "hawt OMM" thread saying he misses his 15 Oreos right before bedtime... like wtf...

Along the same lines, have you seen most medical facilities' cafeterias? Total crap served there most of the time. Also, it seems like there's a soda machine on every hall. What does that demonstrate to the unknowing public?

I spend $8 a day on coffee. Only way I can make it through the day.

I used to not drink coffee at all in high school until I had to pull a series of all nighters for my graduation paper (got an A on it, you need to pass it to graduate, I was paranoid and spent countless hours making sure it was good). After that, first two years of college, I barely used it. But now as a junior, I have developed a habit of having coffee mid-day sometimes depending on how tired I felt. I do have coffee every Saturday morning now. For example, I did homework until 3 AM this friday night (finished most of my weekend's work). Slept in until 10, got some coffee, did some homework from 1pm to 6:30pm. After I went to the gym for 3 hours. I only drink coffee when I am tired. I tend to get sugary coffee so I try to never drink it before an exam cause I usually have to use the bathroom 2-3 times for about 2 hours after the coffee I usually get.

This past summer I was working pretty crazy hours weekly, about 40 hours a week a long with about 12 hours of class and about 3 hours a night studying. Got up around 9:30am and got back to my home around 9pm without a rest. Usually, I drank coffee to stay up to study until 2 am.

That's what Texas catheters are for... 😀

Lol the coffee I get isn't that great but its incredibly effective lol. I put way too much sugar in it

2nd one looks extraordinary. Would be nice to drink less acidic coffee. Heartburn kinda sucks. Need to get the -log[H+] up.

I've tried the first one. It works well. I'm going to get the second one for school. Takes up less space.

Yeah, heartburn sucks.

I drank coffee like a fish drinks water, for all of junior and senior year. Best decision I made was to stop. Caffeine is a stimulant and after you drink for a while, you need to drink more to stay awake and it becomes a vicious cycle.

Eat lots of fruits and veggies and exercise. You will sleep better at night and will be more well rested during the day and will not have a need for it.

Those first couple of weeks off the cup are hard though heh...

That junk food sells better than salads and sushi? Our cafeteria has a full salad bar, fridges full of yogurt, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, etc, but the line is longest for the cheeseburgers and fries. Not saying its appropriate, but if I was visiting a sick loved one in the hospital or going into my 25th hour on the clock, comfort food sounds pretty darn good.

Dang it, now I want some sushi.

This tea is amazing if you like Chai. I cook it with milk over stove top with a little sugar. Let the milk cool, scrape off the protein film that covers the surface, strain and enjoy!
