College

First thing I would do is check out a dental school's web page and look at what their pre-requisite courses are. You'll see Bio, Chem, O-chem, physics, and english, possibly some other stuff like biochem and microbiology. Obviously, this list of courses is generally covered by a university's biology major, but a biochem major is also very popular. If bio doesn't seem to be your bag, you can major in whatever you want, but you need to take those prereqs.

most pre-dents are bio or biochem.

major in what ever your little heart desires. I heard that biochem major is looked upon very highly. I'm majoring in bio because I really love bio, but then it may put me at a disadvantage for having the same major as everyone else. but definitely do the major that you enjoy and make sure to complete the prereqs (math; including 1 sem calc, bio w/ lab, chem w/ lab, orgo w/lab, and physics w/ lab, english/composition) plus a few recommended classes like psych, sociology, econ, biochem, genetics.

biochem, physiology, biology, or microbiology

Hands down, underwater basket weaving. More people accepted from this major than all others combined.

I wouldn't take any pre reqs your first semester, I would just take Gen Eds.

Most students think they can handle college when they first get there and then end up doing poorly the first semester. Spare yourself the hit to your sGPA and just take some GEs first semester 😉

that was me 🙁 Although its funny how much you learn in just one semester. Don't do too much your first semester of college, its definitely a reality check, but second semester you'll do great and continue to unless you get mixed up in drugs.
