Color or B&W printer ?

I have accepted to SMU. i know i have to buy a printer but the question is should i buy a color or Black & white printer ? please let me know this answer. what printer do you buy in general if you guys are not from SMU ?

If you want a printer just for printing out papers then a cheap laser will last about 4 to 6 months without needing a new cartilage most will print 3000 to 5000 pages on one and you can bring a spare with you.

which one i should buy to print professor's lectures notes? do you think there are many images in slides ? if so then i need color one. if no or very less then laser B&W much better.

How about a B&W laser for normal copies at high volume (I use a Lexmark e240n) then add an all-in-one fax/copier/color printer as the secondary (I use a Lexmark x6170)? While your at it add a US robotics wireless router (I use a USR5461) with a printer server built in for the laser and maybe a cheap printer server (Netgear PS121) for the all-in-one? Don't forget about the Vonage router connected to the wireless router.

Add 50 Bucks for Bose MediaMate computer speakers
Add a 320 external hard drive (Acomdata large and inexpensive)

I think thats a nice setup. Wait thats my setup.
